Cathie Wood continues to move ARK Invest’s pieces, with the fund’s latest transactions also involving a slice of the crypto world. After heavily selling this stock in July and August, the prominent American investor returned yesterday with a purchase worth more than $3 million. Which stock are we talking about? The company currently attracting the most discussion across decentralized markets and TradFi, which recently launched its own blockchain.

Obviously, the reference is to HOOD, the stock of the well-known broker Robinhood. Cathie Wood has a long history with the company, having started trading it as early as Q3 2021, when the stock was trading at around $10. Now, however, the ARK founder appears to have more than one good reason to bet on further upside, even though prices have risen more than 12-fold compared with five years ago.

Cathie Wood Buys Robinhood Shares: Positive Drivers from the Crypto Sector

Today’s news of Cathie Wood’s purchase of HOOD went largely unnoticed after it emerged that the ARK Venture fund will have to sell its Anthropic holdings after the IPO. Nevertheless, this remains a transaction that deserves more attention, especially given what is happening around Robinhood.

In total, the prominent investor added 27,083 HOOD shares to the portfolio, worth approximately $3.18 million, while also buying other stocks for similar amounts, including Archer Aviation (ACHR) and Cerebras Systems (CBRS). On the selling side, the names included Palantir, AMD and Twist Bioscience.

Why is the latest buy in HOOD so important? There are at least two reasons:

  1. Robinhood launched its own layer-2 blockchain at the beginning of July and, just two months later, is recording a revenue boom, with more than $21 million in revenue over the past seven days. Arbitrum is also benefiting from this strong profitability, as 10% of the revenue is shared with its ecosystem as a reward for providing the infrastructure stacks.
  2. The company bought a minority stake in Crypto.com yesterday—the value of the transaction is not known, editor’s note—while simultaneously announcing its entry into the prediction markets sector. According to analysts, this expansion could represent an attractive opportunity to increase the share of revenue generated by the crypto world.

Forecasts for HOOD Stock

HOOD is currently trading at $120, up approximately 90% from its April lows and 14% since the beginning of the month. According to Bernstein, the same analyst that forecasts Bitcoin reaching $1 million by 2033, Robinhood stock could rise to a $160 target over the next twelve months, implying a positive performance of 33% from current levels.

The target was raised from an initial objective of $130, highlighting how the research firm has strengthened its positive view of the stock, potentially in light of the developments discussed above.

There is also a second analyst, StoneX, which is even more bullish on the medium-term outlook for HOOD stock. According to reports, the firm maintains a buy rating with a $170 target. Such a move would require an appreciation of approximately 41% over the next 12 months.

StoneX argues that the success of Robinhood Chain and the company’s new strategy to diversify revenue could help support a bullish trend in the stock, which now depends to a significant extent on the crypto sector. Considering the $1.3 billion in revenue generated in the second quarter of 2026, revenue from the new chain alone accounts for more than 20% of the total—although projections are pointing toward the network’s best week ever.
