Cathie Wood embraces Elon Musk’s thesis. The era of limited growth—at 3% in the best years of the past 125 years—is over. We are facing a new Industrial Revolution that will have profound effects on the world. What is more, for 2030, she forecasts growth of more than 10% through ARK. Much of Cathie Wood’s confidence in the economy’s rosy future comes, needless to say, from artificial intelligence.

In the future’s greatest encyclopedias of optimism, we will most likely find the face of Cathie Wood. She must nevertheless be credited with one thing: she is investing precisely in what she advocates. Her funds are largely exposed to AI and biomedical stocks and, to a lesser extent, crypto.

The Era of 3% Growth Is Over

Cathie Wood, in her latest video, looks back over some economic history—a history that, admittedly, she has certainly painted with broad strokes. With the Industrial Revolution, the world moved to average growth of 3%. With artificial intelligence, however, that 3% will become a thing of the past. Annual growth will exceed 10%.

  • The 5 platforms

What is more, Cathie Wood did not limit herself to forecasting future growth, but identified the five platforms—not three, she emphasizes—that will drive this revolution.

  • AI, meaning everything related to artificial intelligence;
  • Robotics, which would be the natural evolution of AI: a form of intelligence that has finally become physical;
  • Energy Storage, with technologies that are improving and will also enable a more efficient market;
  • Blockchain, represented primarily by her investments in Coinbase and Circle;
  • Multiomics, meaning the “omics” disciplines: genomics, proteomics and metabolomics. The future of medicine. Here too, ARK funds have already made substantial investments.

Gold Versus Bitcoin

Cathie Wood devotes the final part of a certainly interesting video to Bitcoin’s Bitcoin overtaking gold, referring to the performance of $BTC compared with the dominant player in the commodities sector and, if we wish, among assets considered long-term stores of value.

The correlation between Bitcoin and gold, Wood says, has historically been low, and she believes that the ratio between gold and Bitcoin will reach an all-time high, in favor of the latter. For now—as can be seen in the chart posted by Wood herself—we are very far from the 40 that marked the peak before gold’s major rally in 2025.

The forecasts are therefore entirely optimistic, particularly with regard to those assets that ARK funds have added to their portfolios.

It is worth remembering that ARK funds were almost inactive during the last two trading sessions. On Friday, September 4, there were sales of Tempus AI worth $1.3 million and Twist Bioscience worth $1.5 million, all of which went into Robinhood (+$3.5 million), along with little else—or at least almost nothing of significance.
